SACD's or Audio DVD's are another story again, because these ARE in Hi-Resolution format.Ģ) DO NOT use the automatic level adjustment while ripping! It changes your files permanently, and I don't think that's what you want. Hi, I'm using Media Monkey for years now and am quite happy with it - can't think of any better and easier to use software for (multiple) tagging and archiving my music files.ġ) When ripping to flac, MM indeed suggests 24/192 because the flac format uses lossles compression, ideal for Hi-Resolution tracks.īUT of course that doesn't make much sense with CDs which are only 16/44.1! You can do a lot of the tagging while the files are being ripped or you could trust MM to do it for you. If you do a full 8 hour work day to do this, this is 57.3 Days. I know it took me weeks and I only have about 400 CDs. I don't know how you're going to rip that many. The 16bit/44.kHz WAV file are likely smaller than the upscaled FLAC files. You might as well just leave them as WAV rather than if you're doing this. You're needlessly increasing the file size. And yeah, there's no point in ripping then upscaling to a higher bit length or frequency. You don't want to add this processing directly to your rips. It processes the files and creates a separate file that documents the gain and compression levels that it needs to add for leveling on the fly. But you used to be able to process the leveling after the rip. Subreddit's theme is /r/Minimaluminiumalism.It's been a while since I used MediaMonkey.
